The Jeffryes family were the first winners to win a VIP Golden Ticket to
Blackpool. Amongst their weekend treats they enjoyed feeding the
giraffes at Blackpool Zoo, learning to juggle with Mooky at Blackpool
Tower, meeting the Beavers at Pleasure Beach Blackpool, feeding the
sharks at Sealife and lots lots more. Also included in their package was
exclusive use of our very own Waterpark! Diane and her three daughters
had the UK's Largest Waterpark all to themselves on Saturday morning
before we opened! Lucky girls!
Sandcastle Wins at the prestigous BIBAS!
We are delighted to announce that we won, not one, but two, awards at
the recent Be Inspired Business Awards 2010. The event was, as ever,
glamorous and full of high profile businesses from across the North
West. Sandcastle Waterpark last year got shortlisted for three awards,
but is completely overwhelmed and thrilled to walk away with Excellence
in Customer Service and Leadership Team of the Year. John Child,
Managing Director said, "It is a real team effort to win these awards
and we are so proud of the team who work hard to achieve Guest Service
Excellence!"

Sandcastle Wins the Sustainable Tourism Award at Blackpool
Tourism Awards 2009
A team of Sandcastle Waterpark employees accommpanied the Managing
Director, John Child to the De Vere hotel on Thursday 25th February
2010. The glitzy award ceremony in question - the 2009 Blackpool Tourism
Awards. Sandcastle Waterpark was shortlisted for Visitor Attraction of
the Year, People Development Award and Excellence in Guest Service and
walked away winning the Sustainable Tourism.
We are visiting the BIBAS Awards on Friday 12th March and have been
shortlisted for Excellence in Customer Service, Tourism Business of the
Year, Performance through People and Leadership Team of the Year - so
wish us luck!!!
Blackpool FC visit Sandcastle Waterpark for some pre-match fun!
Blackpool FC have a really important derby game against Preston North
End on Monday 30th November and to get them all relaxed and ready for
the important match, their manager Ian Holloway booked out Sandcastle
Waterpark for the players.
Ian Holloway said, "It was a ripper of a day as they say. The Sandcastle
stayed open for us and what a place it is - if you havent been there
with your family please go! I have never had so much fun in my life. I
know I'm 46 but I was like a 6 year old! It wasnt just me - I've never
seen the lads smiling so much!"
Sandcastle Waterpark wish the team success in the big match and hope
that our r&r session helped!
Sandcastle Waterpark wins at LETS 2009!!
On the 12th November we attended the Lancashire Excellence Tourism
Skills Awards and are delighted to announce that we walked away with an
award for Excellence in Customer Service and Best Practice in Training!!
The judges on the night said , "Sandcastle Waterpark impressed the
judges by their ability to constantly anticipate the needs of the
customers and the way in which they could view events from the
customer's perspective at all points of interaction. To be one
consistent and outstanding individual is exceptional but to have the
ability to apply this across an entire team truly makes Sandcastle
Waterpark extraordinary!"
We are proud of our team here at Sandcastle Waterpark!!
We also won the Best Practice in Training Award, which is all about
developing individuals within the organisation to help achieve a common
goal.

Our very own character BLING, took part in a Cycle Blackpool event last
week!!!! Cycling 4 miles around the area, Heron's Reach, Staining and
back again!!! Here are some photos of his fun along the way!!!!

Sandcastle Waterpark Wins International Award, Chamber of
Commerce, Lancashire Business Environment Awards and gets shortlisted
for Lancashire Excellence in Tourism Skills.
We have recently received news from the World Waterpark's Association
that we have won an award for our Brochure!! In the same week we also
won a Green Award and an Employee Development Award for the regional for
Chamber of Commerce. Then we were delighted to find out that we won the
award for Carbon Management for the Lancashire Business Environment
Awards and Excellence in Customer Service for the LETS Awards. We'll
keep you posted on how we get on!

Welcome to Blackpool Training Courses!!
Sandcastle Waterpark is delighted to announce that every single member
of the team has now successfully completed a Welcome to Blackpool
Training Course. The Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board (now
known as Visit Lancashire) have introduced this course all about
how great Blackpool is, what is has to offer and whats new with the
development work. The idea that all our staff are now more up to speed
in this knowledge means that Guest Service can be delivered to an even
higher standard. We were so impressed with the course and its contents
we have now even introduced our own Welcome to Sandcastle Waterpark
Course to give our own staff some more details about the wonderful world
of Sandcastle Waterpark!
Tour of Britain comes to Blackpool
Tuesday 15th September saw Stage 4 of the Tour of Britain Cycle Race
start and finish here in Blackpool. The race started at Stanley park and
circled Lancashire for 3 and a half hours, finishing back outside
Sandcastle Waterpark! Bling and Balula were there taking part in the
festivities!
Howell and Jamie from Rock FM visit with some strange ideas!
Drive time presenters for Rock FM - Howell and Jamie visited Sandcastle
Waterpark last week with a strange challenge in mind! Poor Jamie was
forced to try and make his way across Typhoon Lagoon in a Water Walker
whilst the waves were on! The lads had a great time, although I feel
Howell enjoyed it far more, watching Jamie struggle to try and achieve
his challenge!!
